ISO 17025

ISO/IEC 17025 is an international standard that describes the general requirements that must be met in order for a laboratory to be recognized as competent to perform specific tests. This international standard is applicable to all organizations that perform testing and calibration operations. This standard is also used in the development of quality, managerial and technical systems of laboratories.

ISO 17025 General Requirements Standard for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories was published by the Turkish Standards Institute in May 2000.

This standard has been prepared at the end of the experience gained from the applications of ISO/IEC Guide 25 and EN 45001, which it substitutes.

The ISO 17025 quality system includes all the requirements that must be fulfilled by an experiment or calibration laboratory that wants to demonstrate that they operate, are technically competent and can produce valid technical results.
